WEBINAR:
Accompanying Survivors of Sexual Abuse
April 28, 2026
1:00 - 3:00 PM (Mountain Daylight)
Registration: $40/person
Did you know that one in three women and one in six men will experience a sexual trauma in their lifetime?
With the rise of the #MeToo movement, Jeffrey Epstein and multiple sexual abuse reports, more survivors are stepping out and sharing their stories. The first person they share their story with may be a priest, pastor, ministry leader, spiritual director, a close friend, family member, or even you.
Many survivors have shared all the hurtful things people have said to them which deepens the shame, including in the church. Although not intentional, people don’t know what to say and do. Sexual trauma is an uncomfortable topic. My/Our passion is to help you be prepared and equipped to journey with survivors of sexual trauma.
In this webinar, you will learn:
Statistics on sexual trauma
Manifestations of sexual trauma
Compassionate listening
What to say and do
What not to say and do
Open-ended questions
Spiritual practices that heal
What to do for you as the Listener
Know your comfort level
Bracketing
Self-care
When to refer
You will hear true cases, stories, and have time for questions and discussion.
This webinar is offered by LifePoint Resources. It will be recorded and made available to all who register.
